RTE (the French Electricity Transmission Network manager) has published and presented the first results of its energy analysis of the French fleet for 2050.
Several possible scenarios were detailed as well as the efforts to be made in order to comply with the – 40% objectives set by the EU and our government (see illustration below).

To achieve this goal, we must therefore drastically reduce our use of fossil fuels (oil in particular) and accelerate our electrification (e.g. use of electric vehicles instead of thermal vehicles). This will have, among other things, the direct consequence of having to increase in the short term our low-carbon electricity production capacity (from renewable or nuclear sources).
In addition, RTE recalls the following main areas of optimization:
- Moderation: reviewing our uses and consumption patterns in order to limit our energy needs,
- Efficiency: making our consumption more efficient by eliminating, for example, overconsumption and energy leaks.
It is therefore imperative to work on these two axes now.
At WATT Earth, we integrated the processing of these different issues into our WE.Vision software suite very early on . We offer our customers a better understanding of their consumption profiles and the ability to visualize the savings made in real time.
